Career story

Vladimir Florentsev, Commissioning Engineer

From Russia, working in Morocco

About me

I graduated from the Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping in the Russian Federation in 2011.

I started working offshore, but in the end, I got tired of working at sea, living in a small cabin and doing the same things every day without a day off. I started working for Tekniq in November 2018.

Diverse experience in several different power plant projects

At the moment, I am working at the 22-MW Wärtsilä power plant in Dakhla, Morocco. My position here is Commissioning Engineer. I have also worked as a Commissioning Manager at Wärtsilä power plants in Bangladesh, Baraka Shikalbaha in Chittagong and Baraka Karnaphuli.

In Bangladesh, I have worked as a Warranty Manager in many different power plants: Baraka Shikalbaha (105 MW,) Baraka Karnaphuli (110 MW,) United Anwara (300 MW), LTL Feni (114 MW) and HF Chowmohoni (113 MW).

After COVID-19 started, I came back to Bangladesh to United Patuakhaly (150 MW) and started working as Commissioning Engineer. I also worked as a Commissioning Engineer in the Wärtsilä power plant in Barbados (33 MW).

Interesting positions and international work opportunities

In my work, I love the chance to travel around the world and be a part of international teams. I like our power team at Tekniq. It is like a big family.

My roles at Tekniq have been Commissioning Engineer, Commissioning Manager and Warranty Manager. Sports support a healthy work life. I like sports. If I have free time at a hotel, I use it to go to the gym.
