Operation a Day´s Work (ODW) Finland promotes human rights and active citizenship of youth

Today is Operation a Day’s Work (ODW) Finland, which is a non-governmental organization (NGO) whose objective is to improve the living conditions and promote the human rights of children and young people in developing countries. Also to encourage Finnish young people towards global solidarity.

The annual ODW Workday is one of the highlights of the Finnish school year. It is when pupils and students spend a day working and donate their pay to ODW Finland for projects that improve the conditions of children and young people in developing countries. Today we had an young girl from seventh grade of grammar school here in the Vaasa office, Emelie Kolam.

She counted the nationality of our employees and the number of local assignments. These figures have been many times in our talks and now we have these figures. Thanks to Emelie.

46% of our current employees are Finnish. So Tekniq has more than half international employees. Tekniq is really an international company.

40% of the assignments are local. This means that the employee is a citizen of the country where he/she is currently on assignment. This is a good figure in terms of sustainable development.

Happy Father’s Day to all dads!
