When and how did you start in Tekniq?
I was applying for the open position at Tekniq Oy but did not get the job at that moment. In some time, I got a call from Tekniq, saying that one of Tekniq’s customers is looking for an office employee. They asked me if I was interested and of course I was!
I got an interview at Valmet, which went well, and I started working in the beginning of 2022. Six months later I got another offer internally at Tekniq, which I could not resist, so I became a Customer Service Coordinator and that is how my working for two companies story began.
Which projects have you been part of? In which countries? Which language skills have you been able to use/learn/develop during projects?
I have been working for 2,5 years for Valmet Finland (department of Marine Scrubbers).During this time, I have been using 4 languages: English, Finnish, Lithuanian and Russian.
What is the best thing about your job?
I enjoy working for two companies, some of the tasks are the same, but also a big part of them is different and that is what I like about it. I get to do a lot of different things every day and usually my days throughout the week are not alike and there is no routine. Also, I meet and work with many people from all over the world. All that makes my job great!
What do you do in your free time (when working abroad)?
I do work in Finland, so for my free time I try to do some travelling.
What qualities are required when working in an international environment?
Although working with different cultures can be challenging at times, patience (emotional intelligence), cultural awareness and good communication skills are key qualities in an internation environment.
Are you and your wellbeing at work taken care of at Tekniq? If yes, how?
Yes, sure. I have great colleagues, nice working places and all the necessary equipment and tools, so I can fully enjoy the work. Also, having occupational health care services is a useful advantage, which helps to maintain my wellbeing.
